The Preview Visit

Many companies and organisations know that providing a preview visit for their new foreign employee (known as the ‘assignee’) is a valuable part of a successful relocation process.

Allowing an assignee and family to get some experience of their new life in a new country, can help make their relocation easier and relieve a lot of the concerns before their first official day in the new country. Preview visits really help to answer many of the questions assignees and their families may have. Preview visits help to make them feel more relaxed about their relocation and / or to make their final decisions, if they have not yet decided to relocate.

At Relocations Ltd, a typical preview visit includes the following parts:
•    Pre-needs assessment by email and telephone
•    A general overview of the destination city / country
•    An accompanied city orientation including residential areas, sample housing, school visits, an introduction to shopping, medical facilities, sports and leisure opportunities
•    A discussion on living in the destination city - healthcare, social life, leisure, security, driving, climate, immigration, etc.
•    A comprehensive Welcome Pack - information on residential areas, schools, medical centres, leisure and shopping facilities, maps, cultural activities, social organizations, banking, insurance, driving etc.

Temporary Accommodation

Relocations Ltd advises and assists on all options regarding temporary accommodation. ‘Temp’ accommodation can mean a hotel stay, serviced apartment or short-term lease is required, Relocations Ltd has the experience and local knowledge to help an assignee choose the right location and then to secure the best possible conditions / prices. Hotel and hostel accommodation can normally be done based on a short search. Short term leases are more difficult and therefore have a slightly higher cost and time required.

Independent Home Search

The Independent Home Search service is one of the most popular relocation services.

Relocations Ltd are the only provider of “independent home searches” in Slovenia. We work on your behalf only, unlike real estate agents, who are obliged by Slovenian Law to represent both the tenant, and the landlord! This is a complete conflict of interest and often results in tenants paying too high a rent for an apartment or house. Our independent home search fee is a fixed fee and is usually much lower cost than the cost of a real estate fee. We ONLY represent the tenant (you). Using an independent professional home search partner such as Relocations Ltd, can save time and money over the course of an assignment for both the assignee and the employer. At Relocations Ltd we represent our clients only, ensuring the ideal property is secured at the best possible price and conditions. Our legal advisers also ensure that the lease contract has all the necessary terms to protect the tenant's rights.

We are not a real estate agency; our job is to guide our assignee client through the process with independent advice including;
Full needs assessment by email and telephone, Pre-selection of suitable properties before the home search starts, Fully accompanied property viewings, Professional consultancy on best practices, Lease negotiation, Supervision of works to be completed on the property, Management of the property handover, Telephone support throughout.

Childcare Services

Relocations Ltd assists expatriates to find suitable, reliable and qualified childcare. Everything is organised by us and we have a number of babysitters and nannies who offer flexible working hours at reasonable prices.

Settling In Services

The first days / weeks and even months of any assignment will provide many challenges for the assignee and family.

Relocations Ltd provides provide support at whatever level our clients require. Our consultants are available via 'phone, email and in person to provide anything from language lessons, internet setup, satellite installation, bank account opening, domestic staff or even just to answer a question as soon as it arises. Some of the services include;

Orientation Service

International Moving Services

Just as with our comprehensive support packages, many of our corporate clients prefer to have all elements of their relocation managed from one office. We can assist you with a full moving service or local assistance in Slovenia.

Cultural Training

We offer two basic forms of cultural training – business briefings and family briefings. Cultural training can be given to individuals or to groups, as requested.

Business Briefings are for managers / employees who wish to quickly build relationships and get the most benefit out of working with their new colleagues. The course can cover local working practices, cultural habits, management and business ethics / processes and other related issues.

Family Briefings are designed to help the whole family understand the local culture they are entering. The course is to help the family overcome any concerns about their new environment in an atmosphere of support and with expert help. Family Briefings may be offered in cooperation with child psychologists, if the family requests.

Tenancy Management

Negotiating an apartment lease contract can sometimes be difficult and time consuming, especially because of language and cultural obstacles.

Relocations Ltd can take care of all the issues relating to a tenancy by just one call to our dedicated consultants. Lease contract negotiations, extensions, modifications and terminations are handled in accordance with given instructions, as are any issues arising from either party in the tenant-landlord relationship. Our legal team is available to ensure that contract terms offer effective protection to the lessee, whilst also allowing an ‘exit strategy’ in the event of an early end to an assignment.
